Dr. Eleni Michailidis was born and raised in New York. After graduating from Barnard College and spending some time on Wall Street, she returned to the sciences as an infectious disease researcher at New York University, where she decided that as a future health care professional it would be important that she learn more about public health. She enrolled at Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health and received her MPH in 2002.

In 2002, she enrolled at Columbia University’s College of Dental Medicine. As a dental student, she spent a large amount of time doing research on tooth development, presenting her findings at several conferences, receiving several awards, and publishing her work in scientific journals. Dr. Michailidis completed her residency training in Orthodontics at Columbia University. She currently also practices in Manhattan.

When she's not working on smiles, Dr. Michailidis enjoys dancing, kick boxing, and spending time with her family.
